Students review actual texture, implied texture and gradation of value while applying their new knowledge of invented texture, and pattern.
Paper cut outs of organic shapes are overlaid to create actual texture as well as separating organic shapes into new shapes that can be identified through touch. Students then draw a letter over the papers, apply invented and implied textures in patterns around the letter. They use a different texture for each shape. Last the students apply value gradation to the letter. Students use graphite, ink, and color pencil to complete this project.
