Hand coloring photographs is a technique that dates back to the mid to late nineteenth century. This process was originally completed using watercolors, oils, and pastels, on black and white photography. Today our students are using both technology and traditional materials to hand color their own photographs. Using Adobe Photoshop to hand color their images on the computer, as well as using watercolor paints with their images printed on watercolor paper, students are rediscovering a lost art.
